Time to hit the gym?

It took me both hands and my body for leverage to open a bottle of Tide. And if that wasn't bad enough, I couldn't get the cork out of a bottle of Shiraz last night. Which is worse dirty clothes, or no wine?

It's bleeping cold in New England this morning. Snot freezing cold. My plan today is to get all the laundry I washed yesterday away, clean up the messy kitchen we left last night after a Shiraz-induced nap on the couch during HGTV, scoot out for a "Q" crochet hook and some fire-starter bricks, then clean up the family room mess. Though family room mess is better cleaned when no kids are home so I may need to rethink the order of operations there.

Finally, a story from Christmas I forgot to tell. We went to Mass Christmas Eve. Shamefully, my children have not been to church since... actually not even Easter because we were on a plane back from Tahoe, so since last Christmas. But that is only incidental. See we bought a talking Hallmark "Peanuts" ornament for the tree this season that recreates the pivotal scene from A Charlie Brown Christmas where Linus explains the true meaning of Christmas. Well, as Fr. Chambers read from Luke 2:1-20
And lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on Earth peace, good will toward men.
Littlest One leaned in and said, "It's the Linus speech!"

Amen.
