It's A Wonderful Life has to be my favorite movie. It is probably at least one of five that I could watch over and over again and still see it with the same eyes as I did the first time. What is so special about Frank Capra's movie making in this case (and in his other films too really) is it is such a simple story filled with such subtext and passion. Of course Jimmy Stewart's brilliance doesn't hurt. I want to be Donna Reed in that scene where he throws the phone down ("a chance of a lifetime!") and kisses her. Through George Bailey we all get a reminder about how everyone has value; we are all special and impact the lives of everyone around us. I know I needed it this year.
Or as New Radicals sang to us, "You only get what you give..."
All of this holds true regardless of who you pray to, and what holiday falls in December. That said, Merry Christmas everyone.

I love that movie too, G. We'll be watching it tonight, most likely. I need it today.
Odd, but I never liked that movie and I don't think I ever sat through the whole movie until last year because I was forced to with Matt & Mikey. Doesn't do it for me....but then I like that xmas song by Mirah Carey.
