My children's very educated mother will no longer be able to show them just nine planets! Add this to the "I am officially old because my kids are learning things in school that I never did" list. This list also includes CD's, the internet, the Faulkland Islands, space shuttle Challenger, and 9/11. The kind of things new editions of textbooks and encyclopedias have to be printed for. Not that anyone uses hard bound encyclopedias anymore.
I mean shit, what are we going to use to memorize them now? I don't know what order they're even in. One's a former moon of Pluto I guess. We could call it "The Planet formerly known as Charon?" Xena, the newest heavenly body and further out into space than the rest would end the list, how do you end a mnemonic with an "X" word?

I just bought a new "set" of encyclopedias. I loved them as a kid, and I still love them. Call me a nerd.
The planet thing is just proof that nothing remains constant. (I think that's kinda cool)
