Thank the freaking Lord almighty it's Friday

Quick Idol Spoilers...

So, I never did watch the guys on AI sing, but I am sure Gideon and Will sucked, and I didn't like them anyway so I'm glad they're off. As for the girls, I knew Ayla wasn't going all the way but I thought she'd last another week. Kinnik was awful, that was a no-brainer. I will say this though...

Mandisa has to be the best vocalist they have ever had on that show, and if she goes before the top two, I am never watching this show again. And, America will get a severe tongue lashing on body image from me on my blog. Not a good kind of tongue lashing either, in case you're a big perv. Because it she loses it's going to be because everyone voted for the "hot white chick." *note quotations marks to signify a general, collective "hot white chick" in general. IMO anyway, and it's my blog I can rant away.

Speaking of ranting, I have more of it. Remember I touted the story I wrote and entered for that contest on Gather.com? It didn't make the top twenty finalists. I was disappointed, honestly, because I was proud of the piece and had such good feedback from it from a lot of people. Now I know it's sounds like bitterness and sour grapes and all, but I just don't get it! I read through most of the finalists they picked, and many of them aren't even fiction, they read like essays. Some have typos and errors in grammar. Nearly all just "tell" they don't have any imagery or dialog. I really want to just post there and say, "I thought this was a fiction contest?" I mean, maybe it wasn't and I misunderstood. Maybe they literally were judging the "love story" or the content, and not the writer or the way it was presented, you know what I mean? What I can't help but feel is there is a ton of nepotism and clique-ishness on the part of the members there. All they do is rate everyone "1o's" and comment "oh this was so so great, blah, blah" because you get points for how much you publish and comment. Losers. (lol just kidding.)

Anyway, I'm disillusioned with the whole thing, I thought it sounded cool. I think it's back to Grub Street, where I can get better critique from more trained writers.

Now I have to drive my darling kindergarten lovie into the city to watch Rainbow Fish, The Play at Berklee. At rush hour. Then pack for my last trip up to Maine to ski for the season, not that there's much skiing to be done. It's going to be 60 today here in MA.

G: I love the movie, "Finding Forester". It reminds me of Jamal asking Forester if he had ever entered a writing contest.

"Just one."

"Did you win."

"Of course I won."

And of course, he is talking about the Pulitzer.

Sorry about your story chica. Maybe we should have our own competition and pick only people we like. : )

Ack, Bee then we are being just as petty.

I'm not a tit for tat kind of girl anyway. Not enough tit. *snort*

Joe and leesa, I'm glad to know someone is at least reading. LOL
