Clean that dirty window, never mind opening it

So (despite a most lame voter turnout; I have a counter! I know how many people come by. Even you fly-by-nighters searching for hot housewives desperate to pee can take 2 seconds to click a poll box, Jeez...) The winner of the "Most Overplayed Song of 2006" appears to be Bad Day. Though I realized yesterday I can't believe I forgot Natasha Beddingfield's "Unwritten".

Site rec: For those of you who like to stream web music, check out Pandora. Brain Diva had told me about it months ago, and I forgot about it, but then the Geek was all about it at work this weekend so I checked it out. Basically, you tell it what you like to listen to, and it picks out other similar music to create a custom station. No commercial interruptions either, just ads on the site. With each song it plays, you can rate it from a thumbs up or down, or tell it "I hate that song! Never play it again!" In this way, it further tweaks your preferences. From their site:

we set out to capture the essence of music at the most fundamental level. We ended up assembling literally hundreds of musical attributes or "genes" into a very large Music Genome. Taken together these genes capture the unique and magical musical identity of a song - everything from melody, harmony and rhythm, to instrumentation, orchestration, arrangement, lyrics, and of course the rich world of singing and vocal harmony. It's not about what a band looks like, or what genre they supposedly belong to, or about who buys their records - it's about what each individual song sounds like.
You can create as many stations as you like, varying the artists and songs as you like. It is actually kind of cool, and the point is to introduce you to new artists based on your tastes. And anything about discovering new music is cool with me. You can have a profile, bookmark songs and artists you like at the click of a mouse, and search for stations made by other users. I know it sounds the same as other jukebox sites like Yahoo and Napster but this does seem a bit more avant-guard, and streamlined.

It's a Happy Happy Hump day. :) I am not going anywhere today. I am not leaving this house. I am tidying up, doing laundry, and just writing and reading. I might even bake muffins for the kids. I sneak protein powder into them. ::mwahahaha::

Tomorrow, it's back to the gym. I swear. I cannot be 40 and fat.

muffins? Did I hear you say muffins? *holds out plate*

Ok, so I shouldn't have any muffins. I am trying to exercise and eat right, at least for a while. I have no clue how long it will last, but my little stepper thing I got at Brookstone is getting used, that's for sure!

Happy New Year!

Okay, now I think I will be addicted to Pandora!

Does that mean I have to mount a webcam in my potty. I don't want to do that - I would hate to apply makeup to use the potty.

Um, Leesa? I think there's a segue somewhere only you were privy to with the webcam potty thing. :p
